In the Fall of 2000, Team Heroes co-founder, Angelique Rickhoff got involved with a local organization dedicated to offering support services for families and individuals coping with cancer.
Little did she know, she would find herself more than just a supporter of the charity, but someone to benefit from it as well.
In 2002, Angelique's fundraising team took on a more personal meaning, as her loving Grandmother, Ruby L. Haddon, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Angelique continues walking today, in memory of her grandmother's passing in 2004 and her grandfather, Ralph Rickhoff's, passing in 2007.
Team Heroes grew from an ideal of giving unsung heroes, a super hero face.
Founders, Angelique Rickhoff and Paul Heid, were brainstorming ways to evolve their fundraising potential for charitable causes. What started out as a humorous thought of guerilla environmentalism (i.e. dressing up as super heroes and randomly mowing lawns), quickly transformed into a more organized methodology for supporting established charities.
Hence, Team Heroes was born.
Dressing up as fictional heroes to raise awareness and funds to help benefit charitable organizations.
Combining comics and community, Team Heroes puts the "fun" in fundraising.
